Scientific Name:
Collection  : Usually the residue in the bottom of vessel containing lacquer is collected and dried.

Description  : Irregular masses, dark brown or brown, externally rough with honeycomb like fine pores or granular. Texture hard, uneasily broken, fracture uneven. Odour characteristic and unpleasant.

Identification  : 1.Burn a small piece in a porcelain evaporating dish, dark fumes and strong lacquer odour are produced.2.To 1g of the powder add 10 ml of ethanol, heat on a water bath for 5 minutes, cool and filter. To 1 ml of the filtrate, add 1 - 2 drops of ferric chloride TS, a dark green colour is produced.

Processing  : Burn Resina Toxicodendri to withered or break to small pieces and stir fry to withered until it gives no dark fumes, allow to cool after removal.

Action  : To eliminate blood stasis, and to kill worms.

Indication  : amenorrhea with mass formation in the abdomen caused by blood stasis, abdominal pain due to intestinal parasitosis

Precautions  : Used with caution in pregnancy and debility without blood stasis.

Dosage  : 2.4 to 4.5 g.

Storage  : Preserve in well closed containers, protected from fire.
