Scientific Name:
Collection  : The drug is collected in autumn when ripe, removed from fleshy aril, wash clean and dried in the sun.

Description  : Ovoid or prolate ovoid, 2 - 3.5cm long, 1.3 - 2cm in diameter. Externally greyish yellow or pale yellowish brown, longitudinally wrinkled. One end obtuse with elliptical raphe the other end slightly acute. Testa hard about 1 mm thick. Kernal surface wrinkled. Perisperm greyish brown, membranoues, endosperm yellowish white, plump and oily. Odor weak, taste slightly sweet and astringent.

Identification  :

Processing  : Remove from sheel (testa). Break to pieces before use.

Action  : To kill worms and to relax bowels.

Indication  : ankylostomiasis, ascariasis, taeniasis; abdominal pain and malnutrition caused by intestinal parasitosis in children; constipation

Precautions  :

Dosage  : 9 to 15 g.

Storage  : Preserve in a cool and dry place, protected from moth.
