Abnormal vascular bundles arrenge by phloem alternating with xylem in several whorls. In phloem the outermost being a layer of sclerenchyma cells, consisting of groups of stone cells and fibre bundles, most of rays pressed, secretory cells abundant, filled with brownish-red contents, usually several to 10 or more arranged tangentially into layers, fiber bundle relativel abundant, nonlignified to slightly lignified, sorounded by cells containing prisms of calcium oxalate forming crytal fibers, the walls of the crystal cells lignified and thickened, groups of stone cells scattered. Xylem rays sometimes containing brownish-red contents, vessels mostly single and scattered, subrounded up to 400µm in diameter, bundles of wood fibers also forming crystal fibres, a few of wood parenchymatous cells containing brownish-red contents.
