Prepare a solution of Fructus Mormordicae reference drug in the same manner as the reference solution. Carry out the method for thin layer chromatograpghy (Appendix Vl B) using silica gel G containing sodium carboxymethyl-cellulose as the coating substance and chloroform-methanol-water (60:10:1) as the mobile phase. Apply separately 10 µl of each of the above two solutions to the plate. After developing and removal of the plate, dry it in the air. Spray with 10% sulfuric acid in ethanol solution, dry with hot blowing until the colour of the spot clear. The spot in the chromatogram obtained with the test solution correspond in the position and color to the spot in the chromatogram obtained with the reference drug solution.
