Collection  : The drug is collected in summer and autumn when the fruit is nearly ripe, dried in the sun, remove from pericarp and foreign matters.

Description  : Elliptic, oblate or ovoid, 2 - 3 mm long, 1.5 - 2.5mm wide. Externally brown or greyish brown rough with sparse white or pale yellowish brown spots. Raphe occurring at the narrow end, slightly prominent. Texture hard, testa thin, cotyledons, greyish white, transluscent and oily, odorless, taste weak, slightly bitter.
