Scientific Name:
Collection  : The gizzard is collected after the chicken is killed. The inner wall of the gizzard is peeled off immediately, wash clean and dried.

Description  : In irregular rolled slices, about 2mm in thickness, the surface yellow, yellowish green or yellowish brown, thin and translucent with prominent streak-shaped wrinkles. Texture fragile, easily broken, fracture horny, lustrous. Odour slightly stinking, taste slightly bitter.

Identification  :

Processing  : Wash clean and dryStir fried: stir fry the as describe under the method of simple stir frying or scalding (Appendix ll D) to swell. Externally dark yellowish brown to yellowish yellow granular or fine bubble shaped under magnifying glass, broken when bend gently, fracture lustrous.Processed with vinegar: after simple stir frying, spray with vinegar to each 100kg of Endothelium Corneum Gigeriae Galli add 15kg of vinegar, take out and dry.

Action  : To promote difestion, to arrest seminal emission, and to cure enuresis.

Indication  : vomiting and diarrhea due to indigestion, malnutrition due to improper feeding, and enuresis in children; seminal emission

Precautions  :

Dosage  : 3 to 9 g.

Storage  : Preserve in a dry place, protected from moth.
