Scientific Name:
Collection  : The drug is collected at the flowering and fruiting in summer and autumn, removed from foreign matter and dried.

Description  : Herb of Dianthus chinensis: calyx tubes 1.4 - 1.8cm long, bracts about ½ in length of calyx tube, petals shallowly toothed at the apex.Identification: To 0.5g of the powder add 10ml of water heat for 10 minutes, filter while hot and cool. Place 2ml of the filtrate into a stoppered test tube, shake vigorously for 1 minute, the persisting foam is produced lasting for about 10 minutes.

Identification  : To 0.5g of the powder add 10ml of water heat for 10 minutes, filter while hot and cool. Place 2ml of the filtrate into a stoppered test tube, shake vigorously for 1 minute, the persisting foam is produced lasting for about 10 minutes.

Processing  : Eliminate foreign matter, wash clean, soften briefly, cut ino sections and dry.

Action  : To relieve dysuria, and to stimulate menstrual discharge.

Indication  : urinary tract infection and urolithiasis with difficult painful urination or hematuria; amenorrhea

Precautions  : Contraindicated in pregnancy.

Dosage  : 9 to 15 g.

Storage  : Preserve in a ventilated and dry place.
