Collection : The drug is collected at flowering in summer and autumn, remove from soil and dried in the sun.
Description : Tangled into masses. Rootlets fine pale yellow. Stems slender, frequently branched, texture fragile easily broken, fracture yellowish white. Leaves small nearly sessile, lamina mostly crumpled and broken when whole, spoon shaped, externally greyish green or brown margin 3 - 5 dentate. Capitulum yellow or yellowish brown. Odour slightly aromatic, irritant on prolong smelling, taste bitter and slightly pungent.
Identification : Total ash : not more than 17.0%
Processing : Eliminate foreign matter, cut into sections and dry.
Action : To relieve nasal obstruction and cough.
Indication : headache, cough, expectoration and nasal obstruction in colds; sinusitis with nasal discharge
Precautions :
Dosage : 6 to 9 g; appropriate quantity for external use.
Storage : Preserve in a ventilated and dry place.
