Collection : The drug is collected from the end of spring to the beginning of autumn, remove from soil, boiled with water or salt water until the body stiffened, scooped out, place in a ventilated place and dried in shade.
Description : The cephalothorax and preabdomen flattened, elongated ellipsoidal, the post-abdomen tail like, shrunken and curved. The body of intact specimen about 6 cm long. The cephalothorax greenish brown, the anterior part arising 1 pair of short and small chelicerae and one pair of long and large pincer like pediplaps in the shape of a crab pincers, dorsal part covered with ladder shape carapace, ventral part bearing 4 pairs of walking legs, each of seven segments with 2 claws on distal end. The pre-abdomen consist of 7 segments, the seventh dark color with 5 ridged spinal lines on dorsal plate. Dorsal side greenish brown, the postal abdomen brownish yellow, 6 segments with longitudinal furrows on each segments, the telson bearing sharp claw like stinger and no spur below the sting. Odor slightly stinking and taste salty.

Processing : Eliminate foreign matters, wash clean and dry.
Action : To relieve convulsions; to combt poisons and reduce nodulation, to remove obstructions from the collaterals, and to relieve pain.
Indication : infantile convulsion; twitching; spasm; apoplectic hemiplegia; tetanus; chronic arthritis; headache or migraine; sores; scrofula
Precautions :
Dosage : 2.5 to 4.5 g.
Storage : Preserve in a dry place, protected from moth.
