Collection : The infructescence is collected in autumn when the fruit is ripe, dried in the sun and seed is gathered and removed from foreign matters.
Description : Semi-spheroidal or semi-ovoid, slightly flattened. 2 - 4mm long, 1.5 - 3 mm wide. Externally black, one side protruding, rough with fine reticulated wrinkles, the other side slightly dented, wrinkles relatively indistinct. Apex obtuse, base slightly acute with prominent dotted hilum. Texture hard, odor characteristic and taste slightly pungent.
Identification :
Processing : Eliminate foreign matters.Semen Allii Tuberosi (processed with salt): Stir fry as describe under the method for processing with salt water (Appendix ll D) to dry.
Action : To tonify the liver and the kidney, to promote virility, and to arret spontaneous emission.
Indication : impotence, seminal emission, aching of the loins and knees; enuresis, frequent urination; leukorrhea
Precautions :
Dosage : 3 to 9 g.
Storage : Preserve in a dry place.
